Michael Pryor was invited a guest on the clubhouse group Archi-Tech Network (<ATN>) for an informal chat. <ATN> is an online network to share knowledge of technology in the AEC industry which focuses on discussions about technology used to design architecture but also how architecture is being shaped by emerging technology. The talk was hosted by Olly Thomas, Guillaume Evain, and Faisal U-K. In the chat Michael discussed his career trajectory from architecture to product design and what shifts like this mean for the profession of computational design detached from architecture. Michael also talked about how he started learning the tools of the trade and what it takes to get good at them. Time was also spent discussing Design Morphine’s new Master’s Degree program co lead by Michael which focuses also on the topic of teaching students to be computational designers which can enter any deign field where advanced algorithmic problem solving can be utilized.
