Our member Alejandro García Gadea taught a workshop called Digital Crafts 3.0 at the Bartlett B-Pro intro workshop series along with Jurij Licen. Over the course of a week they taught the concepts and execution of discrete modeling typologies. The workshop primarily consisted of using Grasshopper’s Wasp3d plug-in to learn about making part to part relationships between elements and aggregating them through fields and stochastic systems. By sets of instructions, the elements are connected generatively to achieve overall forms without self-intersecting and in a way that is actually constructible. The end results were a series of complex interconnected structures defined by discrete unit based systems.
